Rustie Raquin tragically passed away on July 4, 2025, after being discovered in an industrial area near their home in Winnipeg, MB.
On June 29, Rustie was admitted to Grace Hospital following an infection. They underwent an appendectomy the next day, and many family members, including their mother, visited and were reassured by their good spirits on Canada Day, July 1.
Sadly, Rustie went missing on July 2 after their mother left the hospital. Despite numerous searches and the filing of a missing person report, it was not until July 4 that Rustie was found by their brother, leaving family and friends in profound grief.
Rustie’s cousin, Mary Ann Bergman, shared in a heartfelt message: "We are grateful for the love and support we’ve received. It has helped us through this difficult time."
A GoFundMe campaign has been established to assist with the unexpected funeral expenses and to provide support to the family.
The community continues to mourn the loss of Rustie, whose warmth and love for family will never be forgotten. Details for memorial services will be shared soon.
