Tyler Cole Hightower, a 19-year-old motorcyclist from Jeffersonville, tragically lost their life in a fatal crash on Interstate 64 at Grinstead Drive in Louisville, Kentucky, on Saturday, July 5, 2025.
According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, officers responded to the crash just before 2:30 p.m. Tyler was declared dead at the scene by emergency responders. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed Tyler’s identity.
Traffic in the westbound lanes of I-64 was suspended while police conducted their investigation, and westbound vehicles were diverted to Grinstead Drive. Authorities also noted that I-64 eastbound would be reduced to one lane temporarily.
The community has been left shocked and saddened by this loss. A heartfelt post from a community member expressed, "Tyler will be missed by so many. Sending prayers to the family and friends during this devastating time."
